Mrs. Throne earned an Associate of Arts degree from Judson Baptist College in 1968.  She received her B. A. in Literature in 1971 from Fresno Pacific College.  She attended SOSC to complete her Oregon requirements for a credential and student taught under their supervision at Shasta Elementary School fifth grade.    The following year,she was employed at Malin Elementary School as a teacher/aide for seven months at which time she left for the birth of her first son.  Leith has three grown sons and one grandson, who is three.   She helped in her sons' classrooms and volunteered with the Booster Club to stay in touch.    When her youngest son was in second grade, she went to O.I.T. to update her certificateand became a substitute teacher in Oregon and California for five years.
